This term Reception will be taking off into space! Your little astronaut will be finding out about all things related to the solar system. We have exciting experiences lined for the children to bring the topic to life starting with a visiting space dome where children will be able to look up at the stars and planets above.
Our key text will be ‘Whatever next’ by Jill Murphy and the children will be learning the story by acting it out and creating their own space journeys. In our maths learning we will count backwards from 10 and explore our 3D shapes and identify which ones are good to make a rocket.
Forest school will continue our theme of space through the outdoor environment. We will be focusing on our behaviours for learning especially using our initiative (represented by the mouse) and cooperation (represented by penguins) as we create space models in small groups and become more independent within the learning spaces.
