A memeber from St.Werburgh's City Farm came into school this week to see how the hen eggs were getting on. The reception children were allowed to get a sneak glimpse of the chicks inside the eggs, by using the process called Candling.
A warm coloured, strong light was passed over the back of the eggs and the children could see, by looking into the darkened cardboard box at some of the detail of the chick inside.
It was extremely exciting for the children involved and with fingers crossed, we are expecting possibly 6 eggs to hatch on Monday the 12th May!
